Man who went on fishing, drowns in Netravathi

Mangalore, Apr 4, 2013: A man hailing from Jeppu who had been to pick cockles on the Netravathi River Banks near Jeppu Mahakalipadpu on April 4, Thursday, has  met a watery grave.

 

The deceased is Paul Lobo(50). According to sources, he had left home in the morning  saying he would pick cockles from the river bank. It is learnt, there were three others with him. Sources said Lobo moved in another direction leaving behind others and soon went missing.

After a long wait, the police and fire brigade were  informed and the body was fished out of the river by 3 pm.
