Man in drunken stupor stabs son to death

Karkala, Dec 11, 2019:   A man from Ramasamudra in Kasaba village has hacked his young son to death in a drunken stupor on  Tuesday afternoon.

 

The accused  identified as Victor D’Souza was reportedly an alcoholic and used to pick up quarrel with his wife and children everyday in a drunken stupor.

It is said on Tuesday at around 3.45 he had come home fully drunk. On this occasion, his son Vivian D’Souza (24) who was frustrated with his father’s alcoholism  took him to task. The fight between the two took a serious turn when Victor in a fit of anger   picked up a knife in the house and stabbed   his son on his thigh and neck.

It is learnt, Victor’s wife who was unwell and was sleeping in another room was unaware of the incident which came to light when  their another son arrived in the evening.

The accused has been arrested. Karkala police are investigating the case.
