Man from Tirthahalli succumbs to KFD ; death toll rises to 10

Manipal, Feb 02, 2019: A 77 year old person from  Tirthahalli taluk who was being treated at the KMC Hospital at Manipal for Kyasanoor Forest Disease or monkey fever, has breathed his last on February 2, Saturday morning.

With this the death toll due to KFD in Shivamogga district has risen to 10.

The deceased person is Lachhu Poojary. He is the second person  to die while being treated at KMC. Earlier a woman from Sagar taluk had died due to KFD.
