Puttur, March 23, 2020: A man who worked in a hotel in Mumbai and had returned hometown to Kallare has been admitted to the isolation ward at the government hospital, after locals suspected he might be having Coronavirus.
The man had returned on Sunday and was found roaming on the streets of the village when locals informed the Assistant Commissioner.
Later a team of officials comprising Assistant Commissioner, Tahsildar and Health officers visited this house when the man told that he was screened in Mumbai. He was later examined at the Puttur government hospital. It is learnt he has no symptoms of Coronavirus. Still, as a precautionary measure he has been kept in the isolation ward.
In another case, a woman who had returned from a foreign nation who was found suffering from cold and fever caused some anxiety among locals at Ullal. The health officials who traced the woman has asked her to remain in quarantine at home. She has also been provided treatment.
It is learnt, an elderly woman who had been to a nearby shop at Pandit House had told the shopkeeper that her daughter who had returned from abroad was suffering from cold and fever. The shop keeper had immediately informed the Standing Committee Chief Dhanalakshmi and upon her request health officer Dr Rajesh and Dr Prashanth of Ullal PHC rushed to the residence of the woman and examined her. Though she had no symptoms of Coronavirus she has been asked to remain in quarantine.
