Man arrested for trying to smuggle gold hiding it under wig

Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2019 : Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have seized  554.90 grams gold worth Rs 21.33 lakhs  from two persons in two separate cases.

In the first case, a passenger who had arrived by a flight from Dubai was found to have concealed small pieces of gold  of 24 carat purity worth Rs 9.57 lakhs and weighing 247.70 grams  by sticking it to his bald head and  concealing it with a wig.

In yet another case a passenger who had arrived from Abu Dhabi had  tried to smuggle 307.20 gram gold worth Rs 11.76 lakh  by hiding it in a tape like substance.
