Mammoth National Flag unfurled at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru Oct 28, 2016: District In charge Minister B Ramanath Rai unfurled mammoth tri color flag at Mangaluru International Airport on Friday October 28th.  The tricolor measuring 30 feet wide and 20 feet long is the largest National flag in coastal region.

Addressing the gathering B Ramanath Rai said that, this 100 feet high mammoth National flag granted approval from Ministry of Home affairs and Ministry of Civil aviation. Flags will be hoisted in all airports as the symbol of National Integrity and Patriotism in this coastal region. This 100 feet high tri color flag will be visible to the people in Mangaluru as the airport is located in hilly area.

He also said that, we need to remember the sacrifices of the people during the freedom struggle and urged to work for harmony and unity in our country.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that, this is a memorable moment in the history of Mangaluru and he owed gratitude to the government to approve for hoisting National Flag in the airport. National flag is a symbol of patriotism and represents the country and hope this flag will inspire the people of Mangaluru .

The tri color flag will flutter in front of the terminal building near the car park area round the clock and will not be lowered at sunset or hoisted at Sun Rise as mandated in the National Flag Code of India that has other strict rules too.

Airport Director JT Balakrishna,  CISF Officer Amith Kumar and others were present.
