Malpe: Boy injured in mishap during Winch boat parasailing

Malpe, Nov 18, 2023: A 12 year old boy sustained injuries during Winch boat parasailing at Malpe Beach on November 17, Friday.

The injured boy is Ikshyan Chowdhury from Bengaluru. He sustained minor injuries after falling into the boat from a ten meter height.

 

Failure to take suitable precautionary measures is said to be the reason behind the mishap. The boy was admitted to hospital and has recovered.

It may be recalled here that water sports activities had resumed in Malpe beach just a month ago. Meanwhile a person named Subhash Naik has lodged a complaint with the DC alleging that those who availed tender for water sports activities were not giving priority to safety and that more people than prescribed limits are allowed in boats.
