Malini Shetty is new President of Karkala TP; Gopal Moolya is Vice President

Karkala, May 11, 2016:  Malini S Shetty and Gopal Moolya of the BJP were elected the new President and Vice President respectively of the Karkala Taluk Panchayat in the elections held to the top posts on May 10, Tuesday.

The top post has gone to Malini for the second time. She has even served as Panchayat Vice President earlier.  She represents Hirgana constituency while Gopal Moolya  is from Mundkur constituency.

The 20 member Karkala Taluk Panchayat has 19 BJP members and one Congress member.

 S Ashwathi, AC of Kundapur  conducted the  election proceedings in the presence of Chennappa Moolya, Executive Officer of the Taluk Panchayat, V Sunil Kumar, local MLA and others.
