Make in India campaign aims at tapping entrepreneurial potential: Nirmala Sitharaman

Mangaluru, Jan 4, 2015: Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman was all praise for the entrepreneurial  skills of the people of the coastal districts.

Speaking on “Commerce Policy for Future India” at a programme organised by the Mangaluru Initiative for Nationalist Dialogue (MIND) at Sanghaniketen here on January 3, Saturday, she said Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims at infusing the spirit of entrepreneurship in the society.

She also spoke about her family’s association with coastal region and on the need to ensure  effective commerce policies  at the Centre as well as the State governments.

Touching upon the Make in India campaign of the Prime Minister she said  it aims at tapping the entrepreneurial potentials of the people and also at changing the mindset of the people. She also stated that the campaign will be successful if there is good co-ordination between the Union and state governments.

N Vishal Hegde, Trustee of Nitte Education Trust, Shyamala Shenoy, Chairman of IICA, Pradeep Pai, Managing Director of Hangyo Ice Cream, Konkodi Padmanabha, Chairman of CAMPCO and others were present.
