Mahila Morcha demands measures to check to crime against women

Mangalore, July 19, 2014: A delegation of the Mangalore South Assembly constituency unit of the BJP Mahila Morcha met Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim in Mangalore on July 19, Saturday and forwarded a memorandum to the State Governor through the DC requesting for emergency measures to put a check on rising cases of crime against women.

The memorandum pointed out that the recent cases of sexual assaults on women and minors in the state have been a black spot on the state. It also referred to the mysterious death of Byndoor College student Ratna Kottari and demanded speedy probe.

Alleging that there has been a total breakdown of law and order machinery in the state, the Mahila Morcha urged the Congress government in the state to act fast and initiate immediate measures.

Mahila Morcha office bearers Babitha Ravindra, Renuka and Latha Pai were among others in the delegation.
