Mahabaleshwara MS takes charge as MD and CEO of Karnataka Bank

Mangaluru, April 15, 2017: Mahabaleshwara M S, assumed charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank on Saturday, 15th April 2017, at its Corporate Office in Mangaluru. He has taken the reigns of the Bank from P Jayarama Bhat, who has already taken charge as Chairman [Part Time, Non Executive] of the Bank on Wednesday 12th April 2017. The appointment of Mahabaleshwara M S, is for a period of 3 years from the date of assuming the charge as per the approval received from the RBI, in line with the earlier recommendations of the Bank’s Board.

“Having assumed the post of MD & CEO of a growing premier private sector Bank, my first and foremost priority would be taking forward the initiatives started by my predecessor and mentor Shri P Jayarama Bhat, for the all round growth of the Bank and to make Karnataka Bank a preferred Bank for at least one percent of the Indians and to emerge as a well governed financial power house. With the economy showing signs of improvement, I eagerly look forward to an exciting and eventful journey with the great company of all the stakeholders, to keep the KBL flag flying high always”, said Mahabaleshwara M S, speaking on the occasion.


Before taking charge, Shri Mahabaleshwara M S, along with the Chairman and other executives of the Bank, paid floral tribute to all the founding fathers of Karnataka Bank.

Mahabaleshwara M S, brings with him rich experience of over 32 years, in all aspects of banking, both at operational and administrative levels. He expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed by the Board of Directors of the Bank, Bank’s Employees, RBI and all other stake holders. He also thanked all the staff members for their support and cooperation and said that he has accepted this responsibility with all humility and would strive hard to take the Bank to greater heights.
