In Karnataka, the blood donation camp will be held in 38 locations including Mangalore and Udupi. In Mangalore alone, the SJF in association with IRCS is planning to collect more than 1,000 units of blood on a single day on September 26.

“We expect about 4,000 to 5,000 blood donors from every nook and corner of the district, out of which we are confident of collecting a minimum of 1,000 units,” he said and appealed to people of the district to make the camp a success.

In Udupi, the blood donation camp will be held in the premises of Mother of Sorrows Church Hall, he said.

IRCS Blood Bank Chairperson R A Fernandes said that the IRCS has made elaborate arrangements at the IRCS blood bank premises to collect 1,000 units of blood at five locations. Besides the three floors at the IRCS Blood Bank building, two more locations at Lady Goschen hospital premises have been identified.
