Madikeri, Nov 25, 2016 : In a shocking case, a group of armed and masked assailants which barged into a house at Hosapattana near Kushalnagar on November 24 has decamped with valuables worth over Rs 50 lakhs after tying him down.
The house belonged to Shivakumar. It s learnt Shivakumar was getting ready to travel to Bengaluru at around 7.15 am when the assailants barged in. His relative Vishwanath too was present in the house. Both the men were tied down and plasters fastened on their mouth by the assailants who later laid their hands on cash and jewels in the house. It is learnt the stolen valuables included Rs 1 lakh new currency, Rs 6 lakh old currency apart from gold and diamond ornaments.
The assailants had in their possession a revolver. Meanwhile a friend of Shivakumar named Ishwar who had come to go to Bengaluru along with Shivakumar was also attacked by the assailants before they fled. Ishwar later informed the neighbours and police. A person who was hiding amid the shrubs was arrested on suspicion and on the basis of his revelations two more were arrested.
Investigations are underway.
