MSEZ officers allegedly assaulted the family because they protested against MSEZ workers, who were leveling land that the family owns, and tried to prevent them from continuing their work.

The MSEZ is now acquiring land in Nellidadi Guttu. On Friday, MSEZ workers began leveling land that belongs to Laxman Chowta.

Mr. Chowta has lodged a complaint at the local police station, in which he alleges that Raghavendra Holla and Krishnaraj Mayya, both MSEZ contractors, and their brother, along with other MSEZ workers Subhash Padil, Shantigudde Pachuchu, and Sunil assaulted him, his son Kishore Shetty, Prafulla, Mohini Shetty, and Kishore’s two children Bhavya Shetty and Nirikshit.

The family owns 50 acres of land and MSEZ began work on part of this land without seeking the family’s permission or legally acquiring it.

In his complaint, Mr. Chowta said that the contractors and other workers assaulted them when they protested.

Kishore and his two children are now taking treatment in Wenlock Hospital.

The Bajpe police have registered a case.
