Mangaluru, Nov 03, 2017: Mayor Kavitha Sanil on nov 2, Thursday inaugurated a kiosk at the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) office, set up by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) to help people to take e-Integrity Pledge during the Vigilance Awareness Week.
MRPL has set up the kiosk as a part of the awareness week celebration wherein people can visit www.cvc.nic.in to take the pledge.
A release from MRPL quoted Ms. Sanil complimenting the company for setting up the kiosk and spreading awareness about corruption-free society. MCC Deputy Commissioner H. Gokuldas Nayak, MRPL managing director H. Kumar and others were present.
A similar kiosk was opened at the sub-registrar’s office on Tuesday and another one is proposed at the zilla panchayat office on Friday. The Central Vigilance Commission, the apex body for fighting corruption, has proposed an ‘e-Integrity Pledge’ for citizens, who can visit the CVC website and click the link to follow the instructions for taking the e-pledge. A certificate of appreciation will be issued by the CVC, and it can be downloaded and printed for taking the pledge.
Integrity clubs
MRPL also organised a ‘Satya Nishta Shibira’ for forming integrity clubs for students in association with Rotary Club of Mangalore Port Town on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by B.M. Hegde, former Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University.
A walkathon was arranged in the afternoon, in which students and citizens participated.
