MRPL opens its third outlet in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 28, 2018: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) on feb 27, Tuesday inaugurated its state-of-the-art company owned company operated (COCO) retail outlet at Panambur near here. This is MRPLs third outlet in the city, after its earlier operational outlets outside its refinery at Kuthethur and second one at Kadri along NH 66 and fifth overall in the state. MRPL has outlets at Maddur in Mandya and at Hubballi.

H Kumar, managing director, MRPL who inaugurated the Panambur retail outlet told media  that the ONGC subsidiary mini-navaratna company will open one more outlet at Mandya by the end of this fiscal and plans are already afoot to open another six outlets – all within Karnataka by the end of first quarter of the next fiscal. "Our retail outlet expansion plans for the present are Karnataka centric and the tenders were floated accordingly," Kumar said.


The Panambur retail outlet is spread across 2.75 acres of land and is one of the largest petrol pumps in this coastal city, a communiqué from the company stated. Being close to New Mangalore Port, the outlet that has a very attractive design and colour scheme, which stands out from a distance, will largely cater to truckers originating from the port. The illumination at night is spectacular, giving a new land mark to Mangalore city, the communiqué added.


MRPL is planning to add other conveniences for customers at its retail outlets, such as ATM, dhaba for truckers and restaurant for motoring public. MRPL also has cashless loyalty scheme at its outlets. This retail outlet is part of MRPL’s retail expansion plan in Karnataka, Goa and Kerala. M Venkatesh, director (refinery) and MD designate, MRPL, A K Sahoo, director (finance), Rajeev Kushwaha, CVO and other senior officers and customers were present.
