MRPL Finance Director Sahoo passes away

Mangaluru, Dec 13, 2018: Akshaya Kumar Sahoo, Director (Finance), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., passed away here on Tuesday due to ill health. He was 55.

MRPL has expressed deep shock and grief at the sudden and untimely demise of its director, who is survived by his wife and two daughters, said a press release here.

Sahoo took charge as Director Finance of MRPL on February 1, 2016. He had over 28 years of rich experience in various aspects of finance and finance management. He had served in diverse sectors such as teaching, mining, manufacturing and service before turning to the refining and petrochemical industry.

He was was a post-graduate degree holder in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University, Odisha. He was a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

ONGC’s CMD and MRPL’s Chairman Shashi Shanker has expressed his condolences. MRPL Managing Director M. Venkatesh expressed his grief and said that Sahoo’s demise is a great loss to MRPL and the entire oil industry.
