MP Shoba Confident of BJP candidate winning polls

Udupi, Dec 8, 2015 : Briefing media,  MP Shoba Karandlaje expressed confidence of the party candidates winning the elections to the Legislative Council from Dakshina Kannada local bodies’ constituency unanimously like the previous election.


  MP Shoba KarandlajeMP Shoba said, “We want to maintain a distance from election expenditure and confusion. With rebellion brewing in the Congress and its leaders Jayaprakash Hegde, Bhujanga Shetty and Harikrishna Bantwal expressing desire to contest as independent candidates, the BJP has decided to follow the tactic of ‘wait and watch’.


The BJP has made preparations for the election. We are confident of the BJP candidate winning the election. In Udupi district, 104 gram panchayats are in the hands of members supporting the BJP,”  she said.

The MP said that the work on repair of National Highway from Manipal to Udupi has been completed. Rs 35 lakh has been released by NHAI to repair National highway from Udupi to Malpe. The work will commence shortly.

“About 160 taluks in the State are reeling under drought. However, the assembly session has failed to discuss on the same. Five persons lost their lives with the State government observing Tipu Jayanti celebrations. The State had sought Rs 3,000 crore from the Centre to tackle drought situation in Karnataka. The Centre has already released Rs 1,540 crore. The State government, however, has failed to take up drought relief work.”

“Without the support of the State government, Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao and his son Ashwin Rao can not indulge in corruption. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other cabinet ministers are also directly involved. As a result, the State government is delaying the process to remove Justice Bhaskar Rao,” the MP said
