MP Nalin warns of intense protest against Yettinahole Project

Belthangady, Nov 15, 2016: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has accused the state government of not paying heed to the non-violent means of protest against Yettinahole project so far.  Panchatheertha and Sapta Kshetra movement will be held against the project on December 10, he said and added that severe means of protest will be resorted to from January 26 onwards.


nalin kumarSpeaking to reporters at the BJP office here on November 14 Monday, he said though the fight against Yettinahole Project was underway since two years  the   Chief Minister had developed an  adamant and apathetic attitude  towards the same.

He could have at least convened a meeting of elected representatives of the region for the sake of formality, Nalin said adding there was an internal politics to hit a blow to local ministers Ramanatha Rai and UT Khader through this project. He also accused the CM of giving a go ahead to the project despite the Green Bench order.

 He made it clear that this was not a movement of the  BJP but a united fight. The Ratha Yatre will be held on December 10  as part of social awareness drive. A one month’s deadline will be given.  A meeting should be held by then or the project should be stopped. If the government fails to heed to the demand  then it itself would be responsible for any repercussions, he warned.
