MP Nalin honours farmer Frank who averted train mishap

Mangaluru, Aug 08, 2015: Frank Fernandes, the brave farmer who had recently hit the headlines after he averted a train mishap by  stopping the Mangaluru-Madagaon Intercity Express  using Red Pagoda flowers as a signal on noticing damage to the railway track, was felicitated by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel here on August 7, Friday.

The MP along with other party workers and supporters met Frank and honoured him with a cash of Rs 2500 on behalf of Palakkad Division of Southern Railway apart from offering him a shawl, garland, Peta and certificate of merit.

The MP who lauded the daring act of the farmer, stated that he has become a role model for many others  through his great presence of mind which averted a possible train mishap. He also stated that he has spoken to the Railway Minister about Frank and added that the Ministry will also felicitate Frank.
