MP Nalin directs officials to gear up for monsoon eventualities

Mangalore, June 17, 2014: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has directed officials to gear up to face monsoon eventualities in the district.

Addressing a meeting held in this regard at the  DC office on Tuesday June 17, he  emphasised the need for measures to check sea erosion in affected places like Ullal, Someshwar and Uchila. He further directed officials to ensure provision of compensation to affected families.

 

Taking strong exception to the apathy of the MESCOM towards rectifying the electric cables which get snapped due to heavy rains, the MP also sought details on the compensation provided by MESCOM in case of mishaps.

AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Sadashiva Prabhu, Additional DC and several officials were present.
