MP Nalin directs NH officials to expedite highway works

Mangalore, June 26, 2014 : Addressing a meeting of NHAI officials at the Circuit House in the city on June 26 Thursday, the  MP asked the Highway officials to respond to the problems arising out of incomplete  highway works at various places.

He urged for immediate remedial measures to the traffic problems arising out of ten narrow NH  at BC Road, the disorderly works on either side of the road leading to Tokkottu and to  ensure that the houses adjacent to the NH at Kallaup are vacated. He also took serious cognizance of the traffic problems at Nantur Junction and directed NH officials to look into the same.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sriram Mishra, NHAI Project Director, who spoke said the widening of the road at BC road faced obstacles due to the presence of buildings on either side. Referring to the  Nantur problem, he said a proposal for a fly over at a cost of Rs 58 core has been sent. He said the works would begin  within three months if the project gets a nod.

Dr Prashanth, Assistant Commissioner, ZP Vice President Satish Kumpala, NH officials and several others were present.
