Mangaluru, Dec 28,2015: It was nothing but ironic that two ministers from Dakshina Kannada district had to run hither and thither to find their polling booths where they could exercise their franchise for the MLC elections held on December 27, Sunday.
If DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai had earlier made a written request to the Deputy Commissioner to allow him to vote in Bantwal Taluk Panchayat Office, Rai was disappointed when he arrived there on Sunday as officials told him that he had to cast his vote at Kallige Panchayat office.
Accordingly Rai went to Kallige where officials told that they had received intimation from the DC office to allow him to vote at Bantwal Taluk Panchayat Office. Finding no other way Rai again left for Bantwal and voted at the Taluk Panchayat office.
The same was the case with State Health Minister UT Khader when he arrived at the Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat Office. He was told that he had to go to Ullal Municipal Office to cast his vote. Accordingly, he left for Ullal and voted there.
