MLC election: Counting of votes, results to be telecasted live

Mangaluru, Dec 28, 2015: According to DK DC  Adoor B Ibrahim,Counting of votes cast in the election to Karnataka Legislative Council from Dakshina Kannada Udupi Local Bodies’ Constituency and results will be telecast live in the local television channels on December 30.

The election was conducted December 27, Sunday.   Addressing media the DC  said votes will be counted at Victoria Girls Composite Pre University College, Lady Hill.

He said there are eight candidates in the fray.  

Even if the number of candidates to be elected is more than one, the figure “1” should be put opposite the name of only one candidate. 

If a voter puts tick mark or cross mark to indicate preference such ballot paper would be rejected.  A voter should not sign or write name on the ballot paper. Also should not put thumb impression.
