Mangaluru, Sept 25, 2016: MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza has accused the Prime Minister of not showing any interest in solving the Cauvery water sharing row between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Addressing press persons at his office at MCC building at Lalbagh on September 25, Sunday, Ivan said the Prime Minister who has time for Baluchistan and various other things, however has no time to give an appointment to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to discuss the issue. The Chief Minister has so far written as many as eight letters to the prime minister seeking his appointment but of no avail, said Ivan.
He also questioned the silence of the three MPs from the state regarding the Cauvery issue and alleged that they had no courage to approach the PM on the issue.
Referring to the statement of BJP leaders that the Prime Minister will not intervene, Ivan questioned how they are aware of the same when the Prime Minister has so far maintained silence on the issue.
