a car worth Rs 40 lakh. There is no water for the people of the district. The MLAs must sit on a dharna in front of Vidhana Soudha opposing the Yettinahole project. If not possible, tender your resignation and sit on fast unto death and prove that you are genuine Janasevaks.”

In another banner, there is a photo of ChikkaballapurMP Veerappa Moily and Union Minister Sadananda Gowda and it reads, “An attempt is made to destroy the lifeline of the district for a desire to claim commission from Rs 13,000 crore project.”

Minister Sadananda Gowda had, during his tenure, given administrative approval for the project to divert the waters of the Netravathi’s tributaries to areas around Bengaluru, MP Moily was instrumental in getting the foundation stone laid for the project at Chikkaballapur, his Lok Sabha constituency, ahead of the 2014 general elections.

Meanwhile, a call from MLA  Vedavyasa Kamath urging all communities in the district to hold special prayers on May 15,  Wednesday for rain has been trolled in the social media. ”It is not MLA’s business to call for prayers for rain. He should work out strategies to address the famine, including protecting green cover, to ensure timely rain,” one person responded.

It further says that the people who are in deep slumber are welcoming Moily and Sadananda Gowda for making people drink recycled water. The banners also warn the MCC  not to remove the banners.
