MLA Vedavyas Kamath urges state govt to grant official language status to Tulu

Mangaluru, Feb 19, 2020 :  Mangaluru South MLA  Vedavyas Kamath has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and State Minister for Kannada, Culture and Tourism C T Ravi  urging for steps to  provide official status for Tulu language.

The MLA in his memorandum has said that the state government must support the demand for inclusion of Tulu in the eighth schedule of the Constitution by conferring the official language status to the language.

Highlighting the glorious past as well as the richness of the Tulu language, the MLA  also observed that it was an opportune time to confer Tulu language its due recognition.

Dr Bharath Shetty, MLA of Mangaluru North, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik and Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja were present.
