Mangaluru, May 05, 2016: With Mangaluru city in the grips of acute water scarcity, it is nothing uncommon to seek divine intervention to help the region steer it out of the crisis. On May 5, Thursday, Mangaluru South MLA offered prayers to the Almighty at the city’s famous Mangaladevi Temple, Jamia Masjid, Kudroli and Bishop’s House Chapel at Kodialbail with the hope that the city will be blessed by abundant showers very soon.
The MLA first visited Mangaladevi Temple and offered prayers to the Goddess followed by a visit to Bishop’s House Chapel where a prayer service was held. Later, he visited the Jamia Masjid at Kudroli.
Several people cutting across political, caste, creed and communal lines participated and offered prayers to the Almighty.
Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru , K S Mohammad Masood, prominent leader of the Muslim community, Fr. J. B. Crasta, Parish Priest of Rosario Church and others were present.
