MLA Harish Poonja tests positive for Covid-19

Mangaluru, August 6, 2020: BJP MLA from Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

He tweeted on Wednesday night that he got himself tested due to a mild fever. The MLA does not have any other symptoms. “I am taking treatment at home,” he said and asked those who have come in contact with him in the recent days to stay home.

Harish Poonja who had mild fever had submitted his throat swab on Tuesday. Apart from fever, the MLA did not suffer from any other symptoms and had decided to avail treatment at his home.

The MLA had recently met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru. He posted a message on social media appealing to those who had accompanied him in the past few days to get themselves quarantined.

Meanwhile, Minister for Muzrai, Ports, Fisheries, Inland Transport and in-charge of Dakshina Kannada Kota Srinivasa Poojary tweeted on Wednesday that his COVID-19 test result has turned out to be negative.
