MLA Halady gets extortion call, life threat from person claiming to be Ravi Poojary

Udupi, May 26, 2015:  Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty has lodged a complaint with the Shankernarayana Police stating that he has received a threat and extortion call from a person claiming himself to be underworld don Ravi Poojary.

Halady in his complaint said the caller reportedly from Australia had contacted his mobile number, demanded money and also threatened him.

Halady’s complaint states that the person claiming to be Ravi Poojary  called him on May 25, Monday  and spoke in Tulu  saying  he was aware that Halady had enough land.

It is said when Halady told the person he does not have money and neither has he done anything illegal, the caller threatened to kill Halady if his demand was not conceded.

Investigations are underway.
