Speaking to reporters at his office here on January 8, Wednesday the MLA said  the meet has been planned  in the backdrop of the Centre’s inability to sanction the nearly Rs 1,100 crore that is required for the airport expansion which also needs Rs 189 acre land. The plan now is to develop the project on PPP basis, he said adding investors from Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations would be invited to the meet.

Referring to the recent murder of Keshav Shetty, a garage owner and BJP member at Soorinje near Kinnigoli, Bava claimed that it was an act of vengeance and clarified that it had nothing to do with the ganja mafia.

The MLA at the same time admitted the presence of ganja mafia in his constituency  and added the  police have been on the look out for the mafia men in a bid to crack down the illegal business.

On this occasion, Bava informed that a total of 26 schools in Mangaluru North constituency have secured a grant of Rs 40 lakhs in total. He also informed that the  building of Kavoor First Grade College has received a grant of Rs 1.87 crore.
