MCODS team on top in oral health innovation

Manipal, Oct 11, 2019: Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, emerged among the top 15 teams from 165 presentations in the country at the Oral Health Innovation Conference 2019, organised by Centre for Dental Education and Research AIIMS, New Delhi, and Ministry of Family and Health Welfare recently.

The event was held to provide a platform to showcase innovative and cost-effective methods for improving oral health.

The top 15 presentations were selected by the CDER and displayed at the felicitation ceremony. The innovation winners of the national oral health programme will be announced by the Ministry of Family and Health Welfare.

Three teams from MCODS participated and all three are among the 15.  The teams are: Final years - Aayushi Bagga, Anusuya Chowdhry and Namrata Datta. They were guided by Dr Ramprasad V P.

The title of their innovation was, ‘Cost-effective herbal lozenges for improved oral health of India Railway Passengers’; interns - Dr Abhay Paul and Dr Anmol Dixit, their guide Dr Komal Smriti and title of their presentation, ‘Lumos Rethinking Illumination’; former intern: Dr Ridyumna Garain. He was guided by Dr Subraya Bhat. His presentation was, ‘Development of a double ended colour coded probe’.
