The people residing in the area located in between Thumbe pump house and city pump house doesn’t have any fee to obtain water from the pipelines. This area include above said Pharangipete, Kannuru and others areas.

Meanwhile, water leakage as a result of pipeline damage is another reason for loss of water. The concerned authorities most of the time won’t respond to the water leakage following the damage of pipe line used for water supply.

Various water taps installed under various government schemes have been supplying water to the city and nearby area residents free of cost. These water taps are being misused by the public for washing their vehicles, cleaning their houses, shops and so on causing huge water loss.

The concerned department officials aren’t focusing to follow the guidelines set to install new water pipelines in the city and this resulted also in water leakage. For instance, according to the rules, ditch used to install new pipeline should have a width of 1 meter. However, the contractors  have been installing new pipelines in the ditches with the width of only 0.5 meter. This damages the pipe when vehicles pass on the spot.
