MCC to give facelift to six parks ; develop 3 crematoriums

Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2021:      As many as six parks in the Mangaluru City Corporation limits are expected to get a facelift  at an estimated cost of Rs 1,56,30,000.

The Mangaluru City Corporation would be utilising  a part of the Rs 23.45 crores  sanctioned by the  State  Government under the 15th State Finance Commission, for the above purpose.

Accordingly, it has been proposed to develop the park at Mannagudda ward near the Mayor bungalow at a cost of Rs 20 lakh.  A sum of Rs 63 lakh would be utilised for the development of Bangrakulur ward park while Rs 15 lakhs will be spent on the park near Bhagavathi Temple in Kambla ward.

The Jeppu Park in Mangaladevi ward will get Rs 300 lakh for development, while the parks in Padavu west and Kadri north ward will get Rs 18 lakh and Rs 10.30 lakh respectively.

A Detailed Project Report regarding the development of the Parks  would soon be  prepared.

The Corporation has also decided to develop the crematoriums at Nandigudde, Bajal and Suratkal at a total cost of Rs 1.56 crores.
