MCC to confer U Srinivas Mallya Lifetime Achievement Award on Kadri Gopalnath

Mangaluru, Dec 05, 2017: Renowned  saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath will be conferred the Ullal Srinivas Mallya Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award during the MCC Day to be celebrated on December 8 at Town Hall. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation.

 

Informing this  to  reporters here on December 5, Tuesday, Mayor Kavitha  Sanil said  that apart from the above award, three  outstanding achievers in the fields of  arts, education and sports,  namely Agari Raghuram Rao, KA Rohini and M R Poovamma will also be  honoured with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation.

The awardees were selected by a committee  comprising Prof   B A Viveka Rai, M Abdul Rahiman,  N K Tingalaya,  Prof Rita Noronha and Manohar Prasad.

The MCC Day programme will be inaugurated by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade who will also confer awards to the winners. Mayor Kavitha will preside while DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, MLAs J R Lobo, Moidin Bava, MLCs Ivan D’Souza, Capt Ganesh Karnik and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be the chief guests.

The programme would be followed by Sur Sangam orchestra.
