MCC plans to rename MRPL road after Capt. Pranjal

Mangaluru, Nov 28, 2023: Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur has informed that the MRPL road at Suratkal would be named after Captain Pranjal who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists at Rajauri of Jammu and Kashmir recently. Captain Pranjal was the son of Venkatesh, former MD of MRPL.

 

The Mayor said as Pranjal used to walk on the MRPL Road every day during his childhood, it would be apt to name that road after him. The proposal would be put before the next MCC meeting and sent to the government for approval, the Mayor said.

On the proposal by Mangaluru North MLA to name the Kottara Chowki Circle after Pranjal, the Mayor said the issue would also be discussed.
