"The MCC owed Rs 20,41,46,804 to the company and it had paid Rs 17,68,99,979.29 after a deduction of Rs 3,08,27,223 for lapses in work. The pending Rs 2,04,08,596  will be paid in 15 days," he said.

Speaking to reporters here on January 6, Wednesday, he alleged that works as prescribed in the agreement were not being done by the company. "The agreement states that mechanised sweeping of roads as well as footpath and drainage cleaning works have to be taken up while in reality no work is done except door to door collection of wastes," the Deputy Mayor said.

Explaining the reason for the delay in payment, he said the  company has to provide the mobilization chart which has not been done.

He also stated that the MCC had served notices thrice to the company for the lapses and added a meeting would be held  within the next few days to discuss the issue.

MCC Commissioner Dr H N Gopalkrishna, Corporators Deepak Poojari and  Shashidhar Hegde were also present.
