Mangaluru, Mar 17, 2015: Several illegal petty shops along the roadside from State Bank to Lady Goschen Hospital in the city were razed to the ground in an eviction drive launched by MCC officials on March 17, Tuesday. Nearly eight unlicenced shops and three vehicles selling fast foods were also removed from the area.
Rajiv Mogaveer, Deputy Revenue Commissioner who was part of the eviction team said most of the petty shops were operating on footpaths and obstructing movement of pedestrians. He also stated that the MCC had intimated the petty shopkeepers to vacate on March 16.
Health Inspector Bharath Kumar, Assistant Revenue Officer Vijay and others were part of the eviction team.
