MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati transferred

Mangaluru, June 12, 2015: MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati who has been in the eye of a storm  soon after she took charge a few months ago,  has been transferred to Vijayapura Zilla Panchayat as its CEO.

Korlapati had taken charge as Commissioner on January  1 this year, several months after the Commissioner’s post  fell vacant after the erstwhile Commissioner Shanadi Ajith Kumar Hegde  was transferred reportedly due to infighting  in the ruling party leaders.

Here it is worth mentioning  that the Commissioner’s style of functioning  had displeased a section of the Corporators who were hell bent upon getting her transferred. They had even  aired the issue before the Chief Minister during his  recent visit to the city, but of no avail.

The grouse of the Corporators was that the  Commissioner did not pay heed to their words and that she was  dictatorial. The Commissioner however had maintained that she was discharging  her duties as per the rule book in the best interests of the city.
