M’lore star Ester’s Kannada movie “Usirigintha...” releases

Mangalore, Oct 4, 2014:  Popular rising star of Mangalore,  Ester Noronha, is keeping the people on edge with  fingers crossed for Friday October 3. After having a successful run  performing in Telugu movies, she is eager to crash into her first love - Kannada  movies.


usiginta film This enthusiastic, energetic and beautiful gal  from the coastal city is all set to hit the screens with her first Kannada movie “Usirigintha...Neene Hatthira.” Though the shooting process of the movie began in 2012, it could not be released due to title dispute. Initially titled as “Nimhans,” the producer had to change the name of the movie as NIMHANS approached the court questioning the title.

Esther,  our own kid next door said, “I did not accept any other Kannada movie despite receiving several offers, because Iwanted my first signed movie to be the debut. It is a big banner cinema directed by talented Soorya with whom I share the onscreen space,”  For a girl who was deeply interested in studies and performing arts like Bharatanatyam and classical music, to get into the world of cinema was never in her priority list.  On a brief break in her  hometown amidst the busy schedule, Ester narrated tomedia  about her entry into cinema industry.

“After SSLC, I wanted to study fine arts, so I shifted my base to Mumbai. During the course, I went to Bangalore to participate in a dance workshop as I had intended to do Vidwat in Bharatanatyam. Famous Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan who was one of the resource persons for the workshop, changed my life. I owe a lot to her,” she says.

Saroj Khan who insisted Ester to try her luck in Bollywood  introduced her  to Anupam Kher Acting School where she underwent an acting course.  Soon she got an opportunity to play the leading role in ‘Qayamat Hi Qayamat.’ Though the movie did not give her the desired break, it did help her to get new opportunities, specially from Telugu film industry.

She got her first Telugu offer to act in “1000 Abaddalu” directed by Teja. Telugu film industry noted her potential and soon she signed a big banner picture “Bhimavaram Bullodu” which was a box office hit.  She is currently acting in yet another Telugu movie with Srikanath “Jalsa Rayudu.” “I do not consider language as a barrier. I would act in any language film as long as I like the script. I would like to act in family entertainment cinemas with decent and homely roles,” she says.

Having studied Carnatic music and performed her arangetram at Town hall mangalore, this multi-talented actress has rendered voice to a song in Goan movie, she had captured Konkani song lovers in Kanara . She has now also been requested to sing a song in her upcoming Telugu movie.  This Mangalore lass is sure to go places and bring a shine to Mangalore!
