Lucky escape for driver as sand-laden lorry topples near Nantur.

Mangaluru: July 23, 2015: The driver had a lucky escape after his lorry which was unloading sand rolled over near Nanthur Bus Stand on July 23.

 

It is said that that when driver was unloading the sand from the lorry, the load suddenly shifted to one direction, due to imbalance the truck rolled over. However the driver escaped unhurt.


It may be recalled that the Pandeshwar police had seized four Lorries for transporting sand illegally. The district administration had banned the sand extraction due to the rainy season as it is the time for the fishes to breed. Extraction of sand will affect the breeding of the fish, thus sand extradiction has been banned till august in the CRZ area.

JCB was called to lift the truck. It is said that the truck was carrying sand from Adyar for the construction work of a building at Nantur.
