Lucknow Man accused of Hacking email id arrested by Mangaluru Police

Mangaluru: September 3, 2015: The Mangaluru police arrested a man from Lucknow on the basis of complaint registered by a resident of Bantwal, Abhijit Shenoy.

 

According to the sources, Bhaskar Dutta, officer at NBRI lucknow had allegedly hacked email id and created a job site, with Shenoy’s personal details.

It is learnt that Dutta had uploaded photographs of Shenoy and demanded Rs. 5 lakh. Dutta threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to pay the amount. He even sent obscene images to Shenoy.

The police had booked him under IT act and were searching him. The high court turned down Dutta’s application for anticipatory bail. Left with no other options, Dutta surrendered at the Bunder station on Monday.

The court has remanded him judicial custody until September 14.
