Lockdown partially hits life in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, March 23, 2020:   With Section 144 and a lockdown in place in Mangaluru as well as Dakshina Kannada district after a person tested positive on Sunday, normal life has been partially affected.  Buses, both government as well as private are off the roads  and many roads are wearing a deserted look.

However, Central Market area in Mangaluru saw hectic activities as usual with people thronging the place early in the morning to buy vegetables, fruits and meat.


Some autorickshaws are seen plying on the road. Though hotels are open, only take-away parcels are allowed. Old port is busy as usual.


Government offices and  banks are functioning as usual. Some shops too are open.
