Local fishermen catch a 10kg squid

Mangalore, May 4, 2012 : The local fishermen caught a huge 10kg squid, rarely seen in this area. Usually, the largest squid caught in here weighs 4kg.

 

 

The squid was caught on May 3 Thursday while fishing. Unfortunately, it did not fetch a huge prize, but surprised everybody who saw it.

The fishermen who caught the squid were Thangwel of TN and 8 others. When they pulled up their net, they found the squid amidst other fish.

Although they caught the squid on April 30, they reached the shore only on May 3 as each fishing expedition lasts a minimum of 10 days.
