At the core committee meeting here on Nov 9, Thursday, he raised the issue of BJP state leaders failing to fight against the Congress-led government in Karnataka. "The failures of the state BJP were visible in the motorbike rally, the Parivarthana Rally and also the fights against Minister K J George and Ministers who were raided by the IT sleuths in Karnataka," said Javadekar. He has warned that if the BJP shows poor performances then the party would find difficult to come to power.

Javadekar and Union Minister Piyush Goyal held the meeting with the state leaders for nearly five hours. They questioned the BJP local leaders failing to observe Black Day against black money as a counter to the Congress observing Black Day against demonetisation.

The BJP leaders have been sorting out their differences and giving priority to the strengthening of the BJP in Karnataka. In fact, Piyush Goyal told at the meeting that the people in the state are dejected over the Congress rule in Karnataka. "The BJP lost the last Assembly election due to in-fight. The BJP has an ample opportunity this year, which should not be lost," he added.

Sources in the BJP said that the Javadekar and Piyush Goyal have asked the state leaders to give priority to strengthening the party in Hyderabad Karnataka and Mysuru region. The leaders should chalk out plans for winning the Assembly constituencies in the coastal belts too.

Javadekar also urged the BJP leaders to make BJP convention at Hubballi a success unlike the convention at Bengaluru.
