Addressing the protestors, KPCC Spokesperson and former MLC Ivan D’Souza alleged that the  laws have been amended  just to  facilitate Adanis and Ambanis. He also said  governments cannot remain in power if farmers take to streets. He also questioned the motive of the government to go ahead with such issues without consulting all stakeholders.

This is nothing but a conspiracy to push farmers to slavery, he alleged and questioned the silence of the BJP elected representatives of the district.

Hasiru Sene leader Ravikirana Punacha, JD(S) leader Sumathi Hegde, Congress leaders P V Mohan, Santosh Kumar Shetty, District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, farmers association leader Krishnappa Salian and others took part in the protest.
