Life imprisonment for Kundapur youth, aged lady’s murder Case

Udupi, July 22,2017: Reports say that the additional district and session court Udupi  sentenced Pravin K V (25), a resident of Kumbhashi near Kota to life imprisonment after he was proved guilty in murder cum robbery case at Manoor village in Kota police station area limits.


Life imprisonmentThe court sentenced Pravin to life imprisonment under IPC 302 and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. In addition to this, the judge announced ten years rigorous imprisonment under IPC 392.

Meanwhile, the court acquitted, Nithin Acharya (24) from Manoor village, another accused in the case following lack of sufficient evidence to prove his role in the case. Another minor boy who reportedly helped the convict sent to Juvenile Justice Court. 

The convicted, Pravin murdered Girija Urala (84), who had been staying in a house at Manoor near NH 66 alone and took away cash, gold jewelry and other valuables worth in lakhs from her residence. According to the police, the murderer  entered her residence by removing the tiles of the roof to rob the victim.
