Life Sciences is full of promise, multi demands

Apr 28 2018: Speaking as the chief guest at the 11th Annual Day of School of Life Sciences (SLS), a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE); Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), Bengaluru, said on April 27,  Friday that the opportunities in the field of Life Sciences were now at their peak and that multidisciplinary approaches were in demand.

 

Life Science_Dwelling on the gap between academic research and industrial application, Dr. Saiyed stressed the importance of research through start-ups and bio-incubators. He gave several examples of such bio-entrepreneurship in the country through the C-CAMP network.

Presiding over the function, H. Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, lauded the performance of SLS in the previous year and encouraged students of Life Sciences courses to pursue higher education and research, as this area of science was unique and held promise. He also spoke of the objective of MAHE to be among the eminent educational institutions in the country. The meet was well attended.
