Life Guards save Teenager at Panambur Beach

Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2018: The timely effort of alert life guards today resulted in the rescue of 18 year old Vishwajith Sahu who was on the verge of drowning at Panambur Beach.

According to Yatish Baikampady, CEO of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project the incident took place at 1.45 p.m. on Friday. Vishwajith Sahu is the son of Ravindra Sahu, a native of Kharikar dist Kolkatta, West Bengal. The father is employed withBig Bag Food Ltd., a food bag manufacturing company at Ganjimat on the outskirts of the city.

Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project is known for maintaining a team of fulltime life guards to ensure the safety of the beachgoers. According to Yatish Baikampady, their team of life guards, comprising mainly of hardy Mogaveera fishermen, have so far saved 300 lives since 2008 at Panambur, Someshwara and Kapu beaches.
