Legal Literacy Chariot, Mobile Court Campaign Inaugurated

Mangaluru, Mar 26, 2016: Session Court Judge Uma MG inaugurated Legal Literacy Chariot and Mobile court campaign at Court Premises in Mangaluru on  March 26, Saturday. The Legal Literacy Chariot is an  initiative of  District Administration, MCC, Police Department, Zilla Panchayath, District Education Department, Mangalore Bar Association and Akashavani Mangalore. This campaign will continue till March 30.

Speaking on the occasion  Uma MG stressed the need for early disposal of pending court cases. Prominence will be given for  disposal of the cases which has been registered four years back, she added.


She further said that people have lost trust in the present system due to delay in disposing the cases and in securing justice. Every individual have a  responsibility in strengthening the system, she said.
Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim said that, awareness need to be created among the associations and people  in order to strengthen the judicial system.


Mangalore Bar Association President SP Chengappa said that  mobile court campaign should reach to the poorest in disseminating information about the law. Today in most of the remote areas people are unaware about legal aspects. Of the nearly 1.27 crores of cases  only 98 lakh cases have been disposed, he said while referring to the docket explosion phenomenon. In future 100% cases need to be disposed, said Chengappa.


SP Sharanappa, ZP CEO Shree Vidya, MCC Commissioner Gopala Krishna, DG Nagesh, Information Officer Khader Shah and others were present.
